“Osnabrücker Bürger und Gäste”

In the 1982 summer culture program, artist Petra Murray (*1957) helped children, young people and adults to design tiles for a work of art. The tiles were then fired in the “Offenes Kunsthandwerkerhaus”. The artist arranged the approximately 90 tiles around a column. This column was placed on a multi-level brick base at the Ledenhof. The motto was “Build a monument yourself”. The result was a collaborative work of art called “Osnabrücker Büger und Gäste”.
There were no specific themes for the participants. This is why the tiles feature many different motifs: animals, people, everyday objects as well as scenes from the Bible, fantasy creatures and symbols.

Due to the remodelling of the Ledenhof, this work is currently in the collection depot.
