“Echo”

The artwork “Echo” is by Jochen Piepmeyer (*1944). It is a remainder of a project that used to consist of two parts. It was made in 1989 for the “Echo” project. Various artists each made a work in the city centre and a matching work in the higher outskirts of the city.
When the Schlossgarten was remodelled, this abstract work was moved to its current location. It is a blue triangle that protrudes from the ground like a spike and is divided in the centre.
The only works that still encompass both parts of the project are Hermann Pohlmann’s works “Echo” and “Erdskulptur II”.
