The artist Fritz Szalinski (1905–1978) left his mark on the city with many works of art in public spaces. These include “Bärengruppe”,“Sitzende”, “Mädchen mit Vogel” and “Ausschauende”. He has not only created works of art in stone, but also in bronze, wood and ceramics. In addition to this work, there is another group of bears. Fritz Szalinski created it a few years earlier on the grounds of the former Gertrudenberg monastery.
